Louis and the partners play a Harvard trivia game after hours, and Mike is in the lead by one point opposite his rival, Seth Keller. During the double point round, Mike fails to answer the topic about the Harvard Law dormitory tradition of taking square pizza from Pinocchio’s. Seth then replies “five” when asked how many supreme court justices came from Harvard, and claims victory. Mike, although, points out that there are in fact six, counting Ruth Bader Ginsberg who may have finished from Columbia but frequented Harvard Law before then. Mike wins because he points out that Seth was not correct, just as Louis beforehand refuted Mike for not being precise. Having won, Mike gets a pro bono case of his own, but Mike is left upset about Louis and tells Harvey that Louis may have learned his secret, which Harvey wipes off with no concern.

Harvey then notices Jessica and Quentin Sainz hugging in her office, immediately assuming that she has taken a problem for him. Harvey warns Jessica concerning Quentin’s case is a flop waiting to happen after hearing media coverage over the millions killed by the ALS drug that his company produced to the public. Jessica then astounds Harvey by explaining to him that Quentin is her ex-husband and then informs him that she desires him to take the case because Quentin’s current girlfriend, Lisa Parker, does not want her on the case. Harvey has no care in taking it because he worries that Jessica will interfere with his work. He likes everything to go smoothly as the ipod screen repairs completed by his man guy.


Suits Episode 1 Part 3

Mike chooses to go along with the Rick Sorkin angle, but as he nears Harvey, his briefcase falls open, letting the marijuana packets to fall out in front of him. Mike explains to Harvey the story of how he ended up there, and Harvey gladly listens. Fascinated at his tactics, Harvey allows Mike the associate position, with the $25,000 he requires as a signing bonus, which Mike accepts. Harvey, though, takes it back, saying Pearson Hardman solely hires from Harvard Law, and that Mike has never even gone to any kind of law school. Mike shows that he consumes knowledge like no one else, and that he has actually passed the bar. Harvey tests Mike about the law, and Mike is capable of giving profound answers, to Harvey’s wonder. Mike then manages to beat Harvey’s own knowledge of the law easily, and although Harvey is initially reluctant about hiring Mike. He chooses to do so when he understands that if he does not, he will have to interview further Harvard clones, and on Mike’s statement that if he is granted a chance, he will work as vigorously as he can to prove he is more qualified than the other interviewees.

On Harvey’s guidance, Mike disposes of the remainder of his pot, but decides to hold the briefcase, putting it in a pizza box in his oven, and flies to Harvard to learn about attending school there. As the tour at Harvard Law is previously fully booked, he cons another attendee into granting him his name badge, and then begins the tour in his place. The need for cheap tow truck service in this city is very apparent, since everyone needs their car in a high paced city life. (more…)

Suits Episode 1 part 2

At Pearson Hardman, Louis tells Jessica of his displeasure at her election Harvey to bargain with Gerald Tate, and that he could have dealt with the circumstances. Jessica counters by saying that she objects, but the arrival of Harvey disrupts their discussion, and the two men instantly begin to taunt one another. Their argument is ended by Jessica, who informs Harvey that he obligation to hold interviews for a new associate now that he has become a senior partner. Louis responds to the news by declaring that he deserves the advancement, but Jessica reaffirms her decision.
At the nursing center, a nurse tells Mike about his grandmother’s worsening condition, and she will need to be transferred to full-time care, or else she will be transported to a state facility. However, Mike replies by saying that he will not let his grandmother be moved to a state hospital, and when the nurse replies that he will have to come up with the cost which is $25,000, he calls Trevor to tell him that he will accept his offer, at a price of $25,000. Trevor presents Mike the directions for the transaction, and tells him to clean himself up for the transaction at the hotel. However, after the call is ended, he attains information from the dealers that the deal might be with undercover cops, and so the sellers decide to keep Trevor with them until the deal is through. At Trevor’s apartment, Mike has just completed getting changed when Jenny arrives and commends him on his appearance. Mike then leaves, together with a briefcase filled with weed. (more…)

Suits Episode 1

Louis Litt strolls into an office at Pearson Hardman, and tells Jessica Pearson that one of their patrons, Gerald Tate, is miserable with what is happening with his deal. Jessica tells Louis to see Harvey Specter, their best closer, and following some wavering from Louis, he moves. Harvey is at a poker competition, which he immediately wins, and gets a text from Jessica stating that she requires him to come in.
Rushing over to the office, he hinders an argument among Jessica and Gerald, and after Jessica introduces him, Gerald chides Harvey for his absence. Harvey counters by asserting that when he left, there was no difficulty with the deal. After Gerald insists that the cause for the problem is the other party, Harvey answers by saying that Gerald is the basis of the hold up with the arrangement. Despite Gerald’s contentions that Harvey should fix the problem, and after threatening to pay somebody else to fix it, Harvey notifies Gerald that because the other side already signed the deal, they have now been paid in full, with Jessica supporting his position. Reluctantly, Gerald parts. Jessica then realizes that Harvey had misled them about their fee having already been paid, but lets him off with a smile.
Meanwhile, Mike Ross has just taken part in another Law School Admission Test (LSAT) when the proctor hinders him, saying that he seems familiar. Despite Mike pretending otherwise, the proctor sets aside his test, isolating it from the others. Nevertheless, when the proctor is occupied, Mike immerses his test with the others. The Proctor realizes and gives chase, but Mike succeeds in escaping the situation by changing his attire. He goes to gain his fee from the senior he took the LSAT for, but the student is unsatisfied with the grade Mike got for him. Mike replies that the score he got was representative of the student’s intelligence, only for the student to give him half of what was agreed. The student replies sarcastically by recommending that he go to the police.

Later on, Mike explains to his best friend, Trevor, that he was high when he took the test and nearly got caught. Trevor replies by suggesting that Mike joins him in his business of peddling pot, and tells hims some information regarding a transaction that he wants Mike to do for him. Mike declines, just before the coming of Trevor’s girlfriend Jenny, who asks the two friends what they were talking about. Mike uses this as an opening to leave.
Elsewhere, Harvey and Jessica are discussing their latest triumph over dinner, and Jessica informs him that she has a new, better client for him. When a waitress approaches their table, Jessica exults about Harvey, saying that he is the greatest closer in the city. The waitress thinks that he is a baseball player, but when Harvey explains to her that he is an attorney, she immediately becomes uninterested and leaves, just as Harvey tries to flirt with her. Jessica then bothers him about not actually being the best closer, at least at that moment. However, the next morning, the waitress rouses in Harvey’s bed, and after only a small measure of persuasion, Harvey moves to have sex with her again.
Mike revisits his grandmother, Edith, in the nursing home, and after some joking among them, gets her to take her pills. Edith then asks Mike to stop doing whatever he has been doing, telling him that while life hasn’t been easy to him, she wants him to start living by reaching his potential. After a moment’s pause, Mike vows to do so.
